Date:
Objective: I will teach the students to identify different parts of a sentence (nouns, verbs, adjectives, prepositions, etc.). Students will be able form their own sentences with all parts and identify them by the end of class (20 minutes).
Standards: have a pre-established understanding for vowels, consonants , and syllables as well as how to pronounce words based on these components.
Plan: Warm up meditation, Anticipatory, Lesson, Competition, Assessment
Competition: I will have the students come up with a sentence and write it up on the board and include a noun, verb, adjective, and prepositional phrase. They will have to then underline and identify each component. The students with the 3 longest sentences and accurate labels get a prize.
Assessment: I will administer an exit ticket
Homework: Watch TV
Cross-curriculum standards: I could possible incorporate a different language like spanish and draw the comparisons
