 PARTS OF A LESSON PLAN

1. Title (Somewhere at the top of the lesson plan)

Course Subject
Grade Level
Teacher's Name
Volume

2. Date (current date)

3. Objective (S.M.A.R.T / Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Results Focused & Time Bound)

4. Standards (At least one Florida Standard)

5. Plan (Beginning, Middle and End)

Write in the sequence of activities and events in your lesson

6. Assessment

Each objective with its aligned standard must be assessed for student comprehension and success.
Example: Formative Assessment like an exit ticket or a unit assessment.

Exit tickets are a formative assessment tool that give teachers a way to assess how well students understand the material they are learning in class. ... Teachers can then use this data for adapting instruction to meet students' needs the very next day.

7. Homework

Be specific about which task they should complete.

8. Cross-Curriculum Standards

Think of other subjects you could incorporate in your lesson
Example: English Language Arts (ELA), including ELA standards.

9. Differentiation

Include differentiation through content, process and product.
Example: Students with disabilities and ELL (English Language Learner)

10.Technology

Add technology, skills and standard as much as possible.
The corona virus crisis certainly makes the need for technology in instruction necessary.

11. Written Component

Writing is a transferable skill.
Students should learn how to write about the artistic/creative process.

12. Careers Skills

It prepares students for life outside school.
Teach career-ready practices for students to prepare for life outside the classroom.

  1. Title: Grammar

I will be teaching Students new grammar concepts and how to use them.

    2nd Grade

    Ben Lewis

    Date:

Objective: I will teach the students to identify different parts of a sentence (nouns, verbs, adjectives, prepositions, etc.). Students will be able form their own sentences with all parts and identify them by the end of class (20 minutes).

Standards: have a pre-established understanding for vowels, consonants , and syllables as well as how to pronounce words based on these components.

Plan: Warm up meditation, Anticipatory, Lesson, Competition, Assessment

Competition: I will have the students come up with a sentence and write it up on the board and include a noun, verb, adjective, and prepositional phrase. They will have to then underline and identify each component. The students with the 3 longest sentences and accurate labels get a prize.

Assessment: I will administer an exit ticket

    Homework: Watch TV

Cross-curriculum standards: I could possible incorporate a different language like spanish and draw the comparisons
